There have been times in my own life where I wouldn’t have given my day-to-day reality a great rating. Not one person on this planet goes through life without any conflict or stress. It happens. From the moment we’re born we feel a whole range of emotions. It’s just the way it is.
BUT I do have some good news. Though we can’t necessarily change our current circumstances within 5 seconds, what we can do is change the way we look at it, and often this is the most powerful thing we can do for ourselves and our future too.
A is for ‘Attitude’
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer
I love this quote so much because it’s absolutely true! Just in case you need more convincing, here’s another saying that I reckon backs up this idea quite well… “Whether your glass is half full or half empty, hope can fill it up. The optimist sees the glass as half full.” Now if you’re still unsure, I have one more for you and this one’s a goodie because it’s by none other than civil rights activist and poet, Maya Angelou…
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
The bit that stands out to me most here is ‘change your attitude’. By doing exactly this in my own life has helped me so much over the years. It has helped me overcome a debilitating anxiety disorder, stand stall when being bullied, stay strong when I had chronic fatigue and rise up when I faced some of my biggest fears… And the list goes on. Like I said before, none of us are immune to experiencing life’s hurdles but it’s the way that we look at them that makes all the difference. ?
A Grateful Heart
Do you want to know what has changed my life forever? Practicing gratitude every day. I have been doing this for over 2 years now and it has seriously improved every aspect of my life. It’s helped me love my life even more, have peace about things that don’t go to plan and it’s helped motivate me to continue to ‘dream big and boldly’.
Did you know that noting down 3 things that you’re grateful each day has been scientifically proven to change your mindset and create more happiness in your life? How good is that! And I’m living proof this works. ?
I am so passionate about gratitude journaling, so much so that I speak about it in some of my workshops and talks because I really want to get the message out. And it’s not just me, a lot of celebs practice gratitude journaling too.
Introducing ‘Gratitude With Gianna’
Some of the most common questions I get asked on a regular basis are: “You’re always so positive and optimistic – how can I feel this way too?” and “How did you train yourself to go through life feeling gratitude?”
So I’ve decided to create a supportive space online that can empower and encourage us all to practice gratitude… because it’s awesome.
So I’m super excited to announce that I’m creating my own mini weekly show on Instagram TV called Gratitude With Gianna! And it all starts this Sunday! ??
We can do so much collectively as one community, so by being a part of Gratitude With Gianna, my aim is that we’ll build an amazing tribe of young women who are open to:
- Learning this amazing, life-changing skill and embrace it
- Practicing gratitude every day and sharing their fave moment with me every Sunday on my Instagram TV channel
- Growing as a person because no matter where you are right now, this isn’t going to be your forever-reality. Practicing gratitude can shift your mindset an change the course of your life forever
Your exclusive invitation
From this Sunday I’ll post a video up on my Instagram TV channel (don’t worry you’ll know when it’s up because I’ll post about it on my Insta stories!). I’ll then be on Insta, chatting to you LIVE in the comments below the Instagram TV video post. ?
So I invite you to step out of your comfort zone and share what you’re grateful for each week! You may find it difficult in the beginning cos you’re new to it but don’t stress cos it’ll become super easy if you stick at it. I promise you won’t regret it! This is going to be FUN!! See you there! ?
#Word
Now before I finish this post, I would love to share this with you… we all grow through what we go through. Life isn’t linear – we all experience our fair share of ups and downs, and of course twists and turns. BUT through these times we grow into the women we were always meant to be, so be grateful knowing that you’ve got this! ?
